Solvang

Solvang – The Solvang (AkA “SCREW WRECK”) is a 290’-long Norwegian freighter that sank January 24, 1926 due to a collision.

SOLVANG was carrying sugar from Cuba to New York when she collided with the 7,000-ton tanker SS Vacuum at night in rough seas. Solvang was cut in two and sank in three to six minutes. All but one of Solvang’s crew members survived. The Vacuum was slightly damaged and rescued the rest of the crew members. An excellent dive located in 70 feet for digging and exploration with lots of cargo to sift through.
