Washingtonian-Palmer

On January 26th, 1915, the American steel cargo WASHINGTONIAN sank due to a collision with the 5-masted schooner ELIZABETH PALMER, near Fenwick Island Shoals.  Built in 1914 by Maryland Steel Co. The sinking occured on voyage from Hilo, Hawaii to Delaware with a cargo of sugar. Both ships sank. The Palmer is a five masted sshooner loaded with deadeyes nearby.
