Our history: Established as its individual corporation in 1986.  Atlantic Divers was a part of a large conglomerate of a diving franchise, created and owned by Norman R. Lichtman in 1972 of “Aquatic Recreational Enterprise, The Dive Shop of New Jersey, and Triton Divers”. One of the four location branches in the South Jersey area included Maple Shade/ Cherry Hill, Sewell, Long Beach Island and Egg Harbor Township.  Gene Peterson and Norman R. Lichtman held a partnership until Norman R. Lichtman’s retirement in 1995, Atlantic Divers remained and continued to serve the diving community. In 2019, Atlantic Divers was purchased by Peter Barto teaming with Sea Gear Outfitters, a family run business that carries a full line of rugged gear for commercial and recreational boaters, and top-quality casual apparel for all outdoor enthusiasts.  Sea Gear, the founding company, has been the leader in custom-built marine and industrial materials for fishing companies, municipalities, and construction companies for over three decades.
